Day 01: Delhi - Jaipur

The Palace on Wheels starts its journey from Delhi and moves on to Jaipur.Dinner and overnight stay on board the Palace on Wheels.

Day 02: Jaipur - Jaisalmer

Arrive at Jaipur. Have your breakfast on board. Morning excursion to Amber Fort. Here you can enjoy a ride on the elephant. Tour the chambers and hallways of the palace, which are famous for the excellence of their design and decoration. Take your lunch at the Palace and proceed for an afternoon tour of Jaipur. Visit the unique Jantar Mantar Observatory; see the City Palace and its Museum, the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds. The luxury train then departs for Jaisalmer.Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 03: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

Arrive at Jaisalmer.Have your breakfast on board. Morning sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer. It is in the heart of the Great Indian Desert. Its temple, fort and palaces are all built of golden sandstone. The city is a mass of intricately carved buildings, facades and elaborate balconies. See the Patwon-Ki-Havelies, Salim-Singh-Ki-Haveli and Gandhi Sagar Tank.

Lunch on board, after which you will leave for afternoon visit to the Sand Dunes and a camel ride to view the sunset and enjoy some Rajasthani folk musicians play haunting tunes. It is an unforgettable experience. After dinner, Palace on Wheels departs for Jodhpur. Overnight on board.

Day 04: Jodhpur - Sawai Madhopur

Arrive at Jodhpur. Have your breakfast on board. Morning sightseeing tour of Jodhpur - gateway to the desert beyond, home of the Rathores of Marwa. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, built on a hill, which overlooks the city. Inside the Fort are a number of palaces added by successive rulers. Also visit Mandor - the ancient capital of the State of Marwar. The cenotaphs of the former rulers are imposing and architecturally remarkable.Have your lunch at Palace Hotel, after which the Palace on Wheels departs for Sawai Madhopur Lodge. Dinner and overnight on Board.

Day 05: Sawai Madhopur - Chittaurgarh

Arrive at Sawai Madhopur.Have your breakfast on board. On this tour you can enjoy game viewing in the sanctuary by jeeps / canter. Visit the popular Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary, which extends over an area of 392 sq kms of thick forests. The place is a requisite refuge for both the carnivore and herbivore. The numerous valleys and flat hilltops form picturesque surroundings of the 13th century historical Ranthambore Fort. The Tiger and Leopard are the main predators found in this reserve. Hyena and Jackal are the scavengers; Sloth Bear and Wild Boar is the main carnivore. The main herbivores found in this park are spotted Deer, Sambhar Deer, Nilgai (blue bull) antelope, Chinkara (Indian gazelle) and the common Langur.

Palace on Wheels departs for Chittaurgarh. Have your lunch on board. Arrive at Chittaurgarh. The center of Rajput resistance against Mughal rule. It was here that Sisodia Rajput warriors on many occasions gave their lives preferring death to dishonor and surrender. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 06: Chittaurgarh - Udaipur - Bharatpur

Breakfast on board. Morning sightseeing tour of Udaipur, stopping first at the City Palace. Here you take a look at the rooms with mirrored walls and ivory doors, colored glass windows and inlaid marble balconies; and the Peacock Courtyard. Also visit the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari Gardens; the Jagdish Temple; and the local folk museum.

Have lunch at Palace Hotel, after which the Palace on Wheels departs for Bharatpur. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 07: Bharatpur - Agra - Delhi

The next destination on Palace on Wheels tour is Bharatpur.Here you can visit the National Bird Sanctuary or the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. The sanctuary is home to storks and many rare birds. You'll see more than 250 different species nesting on the tops of trees and along the roadside, as well as snakes, lizards, exotic fish and monkeys. Lucky visitors can spot the rare Siberian Crane that migrates to this preserve annually. Also found are chital, black buck, deer and other varieties of animals.

After having your breakfast at Forest Lodge, visit the city of Fatehpur Sikri. Built in red sandstone by Emperor Akbar. Also visit the Buland Darwaza the largest gateway in the world. Lunch on board. After which you will proceed for an afternoon sightseeing tour of Agra city visiting the impressive Agra Fort, and of course, the most perfect architectural monument in the world -The Taj Mahal. At 2000 hrs Palace on Wheels departs for Delhi.

Day 08: Delhi

The Palace on Wheels returns from its tiring journey, leaving some unforgettable memories in your mind. Arrive in Delhi. Breakfast on board.
